This morning Supreme Court nominee Sonya Sotomayor fractured her right ankle while getting ready to board a plane at LaGuardia, to Washington. After a couple of hours of treatment she caught a later flight, and met with several members of Congress.

Conservative Republicans now believe Appellate Justice Sotomayor to be not just acceptable, but a superb choice for the highest court of the land. This sudden change of heart is based on their perception that she is truly a “Strict Constructionist.” This perception is, of course, based on the fact that this morning, as Sotomayor was leaving for the airport, a friend told her to break a leg….
