Republicans actually backed down from their hissy fit when Rep. Alan Grayson stood up to them. Even as Grayson intensified his rhetoric, Republicans withdrew their resolution to condemn him on the House floor.Rep Grayson says that, "We need Democrats with guts." Adam Bink thinks that it's not just hot air- Grayson is a living, breathing example of what happens when you have guts.
WATCH:
He is saying what every American who wants change in our health insurance system/business is thinking and saying. It is time that more Democratic politicians, those elected representatives who are suppose to represent our interests, stop representing the interests of the insurance companies and drug companies.
Chris Bowers of Open Left, in collaboration with many other blogs, Democracy for America, and Health Care for America Now, has undertaken an effort to get U.S. Senators on the record regarding health care reform and the public option:
Here's a list of where our Senators and Representatives stand on the issue.
It is important to write to those in Congress who are not supporting a public option and ask them four questions:
1. Do you support a public healthcare option as part of reform?
2. Do you support a public healthcare option that is ready on day one?
3. Do you support a public healthcare option that is national, available everywhere and accountable to our government?
4. Do you support a public healthcare option that has the clout to establish rates with providers and big drug companies?Everyone with GUTS, right now write/call/email your Representatives and Senatorsand tell them you support a "public option" and so should they. Here's how:
Here's Ed Schultz with Rep Alan Grayson:E-mail or call the White House: (202) 456-1111
Call or e-mail your representatives and senators (This takes you to a directory: you plug in your ZIP code and it tells you who your senators are, and links you to their Web sites with contact info)
E-mail or call Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi: (202) 225-4965
E-mail or call Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid: (202) 224-3542
